I wanted to show the two sides of the Japanese countryside. 1. the environment, specifically nature even in the human manipulation of landscape and 2. the aging population and decline of pastoral life. I wanted to especially experiment with the sights and sounds to show that the human flow of time does not affect the longer natural flow of time. I wanted to show the strong bonds we create with ourselves through the veneration of our ancestors are indestructible but pales in comparison to the forces of nature.—Anonymous
