Summaries

Robert Sund was a remarkable poet who lived a simple, elegant life in poverty and relative obscurity in Northwest Washington State. This video work presents his poems and interviews with friends and colleagues in an arresting format, using visuals and audio from the river scape that inspired much of his poetry. The director, Maggie Wilder, was a personal acquaintance of Sund, and used his teachings in the making of the video. For fifty minutes, the audience is held in a contemplative state, so that they, too, may participate in the 'celebration of attentiveness*' that was Robert Sund's life and daily practice. *Tim McNulty, fellow poet.—Anonymous
