A drought is about to end the cattle business. The owner of a canning factory wants to buy all the remaining cattle cheap. He plans to ruin the cattlemen's plans to ship water by train and to seed the clouds for rain. Roy is sent by a packing house to investigate.—Ed Stephan <[email protected]>

Meat-packer and ranch owner George B. Hills sends Roy Rogers to check on reports of drought distress on his ranch near Amarillo. Roy finds that the small ranch-owners, such as Granny Adams and her granddaughter Madge are the ones in real trouble, for in addition to the drought troubles they are being intimidated by Hill's crooked foreman Clint Burnside who plans to buy them out and open up his own meat-packing plant using the cattle he has bought cheaply from the desperate ranchers. Hills sends water-filled tank cars into the district but they are sabotaged by Clint and his henchmen, so Roy organizes the ranchers to raise money to bring in a scientific rain-maker seeding the clouds from an airplane. No big deal to Clint, as he acquires an airplane and forces Hills stepson, Philip, to pilot it for him and he shoots down the rain-making plane.—Les Adams <[email protected]>
