Jeong-su and Cheol-ho desert from forced service in the Japanese military and hide in Manchuria, taking jobs in a gold mine. Cheol-ho is accused of stealing and makes his way to the safety of Jeong-su hometown. He stays with the latter's blind wife, passing himself off as Jeong-su and plotting revenge against those who falsely accused him of robbery.—Anonymous
