Three people with a love of horses depend upon each other to find what truly matters in their intertwining lives.
Now addicted to pain pills, Bridgett Van Huesen returns home from her first year in college to a fractured family dynamic. When the financial woes threaten her family's beloved estate, Bridgett, her best friend Jodie, and her former horse trainer Jimmy must navigate their tumultuous lives. Amidst the Van Huesen family strain, Jimmy must find new employment at Helping Hooves Horse Ranch, where he encounters a beautiful woman Rebecca, but his lingering history obstructs their connection. Meanwhile, Jodie, who trains under Jimmy's tutelage, feels alienated as her mother's new romance sidelines their bond. Finally, while Bridgett tries to find peace by making a connection with a boy, her internal battle comes to a head when her prized horse Barkley is sold due to her family's monetary strain, pushing her deeper into addiction. Together, they must unite to confront their demons. Jimmy finds solace with Rebecca, Jodie blossoms into independence, and Bridgett triumphs over her addiction. As a group, they embrace friendship and resilience, culminating in a heartwarming reunion at a Christmas parade where Barkley and Bridgett are joyously reunited.
