Marine James Murfin, is unaware of Icelandic customs. When he flirts with Katina, her Icelandic family take his actions as a proposal of marriage to her. Desperately wanting out, James gets his buddy to help him. Good Luck.

The U. S. Marines land in Iceland during World War Two and brash ladykiller James Murfin (John Payne) makes a pass at local beauty Katina Jonsdottir (Sonja Henie) and is amazed to find it taken as a proposal of marriage--Icelandic customs don't allow for casual propositions. His buddy, Slip Rigges (Jack Oakie), tries to help him out of this predicament but hampers more than he helps, especially when James begins to think the idea of marriage to the charming Katina is appealing.—Les Adams <[email protected]>
