In love with the girl of his dreams--the good-hearted and clever hairdresser, Martha--the neighbourhood's barber, Yannis Psalidas, has to overcome one serious obstacle before walking down the aisle with his future wife: he must first find suitable husbands for his four sisters. However, this is easier said than done, as the hard-working but poor bread-winner barely manages to eke out a living; let alone provide a handsome dowry for his siblings.
