The adventures of Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer.

Intending to try out a magical cure for warts, Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn steal into a graveyard late one night carrying a dead cat. There they witness the murder of a grave robber, and although the boys swear an oath of secrecy to each other, Tom later testifies against half-breed Injun Joe, the murderer, in order to save the falsely accused old derelict, Muff Potter. Injun Joe escapes, but the boys discover him in an old haunted house as he is making plans to hide a chest of stolen money. A short time later, Becky Thatcher, with whom Tom is in love, gives a birthday picnic for her friends near the Painted Cave. While she and Tom are exploring, they become lost in the dark cavern, but Tom catches sight of Injun Joe just before a rescue party arrives. The following week, Tom learns that the cave has been sealed up and that Injun Joe has lost his life. Huck and Tom return to the cave, dig up the treasure, and then do their best to escape the doting attentions of the village ladies.—AFI
