A small town on Tasmania's isolated west coast, off the remote southern tip of Australia, is faced with it's own mortality after a series of tragic deaths leads to the coal mine that supports it, announcing its sudden closure. With touching intimacy and rare access, the film explores the emotional heart of a hardened town as it struggles to deal with grief and the economic challenges ahead. As the excruciating year plays out, the local football team becomes an unlikely rallying point for the town's identity.
