Synopsis

'How The Game Is Played' is an inspiring and fascinating true story of identical twin brothers, Stewart and Steven Peterson. The story begins by bringing you back to their youth, with some cherished 8mm film footage, newspaper articles and pictures, as well as family and professional photos! The twins would like to share their valuable life lessons they have learned from family, teachers, coaches, and teammates.

In the 1950's and 1960's the twins participated in hockey, baseball, and applied themselves to excellence, in the breath-taking Northland of Duluth, Minnesota. Their abilities to play as one, gave them an advantage over others while helping their teams to win City, District, Regional, State, and National Championships.

The movie is narrated by Dennis Anderson, an award winning news anchor, with over 40 years of broadcasting excellence, presenting three important lessons of life; Perseverance, Responsibility, and being a Team Player. These lessons prepared the twins for their challenging military services, many years of hard studying during college, long medical careers, and more importantly, influences that helped them raise their children.

The stories that are featured in this movie unfold right before your eyes, on a beautiful Minnesota horse ranch, built and run by Stewart's family. The story begins by introducing the twins and their family members. Then using Perseverance and a game plan, the movie shows how Stewart and Steven were able to win an important hockey tournament game even though Stewart had an injury the day before. Also, several years later, Stewart, as an officer in the army during the days of the Vietnam War, shows how he had the opportunity to put what he had learned about perseverance into action.

The twins show how learning responsibility from their father help them decide not to shirk their responsibilities to serve in the military when they were number sixty eight in the first national military lottery conducted in the USA in 1968. Both decided not to dodge or try to get out of serving their country. By not avoiding their responsibilities, they went on in life to have success in college and their medical careers. The movie shows by not avoiding a persons responsibilities in life these patterns follow them through life and good things happen along the way.

In the movie the twins show that by being a Team Player, a baseball team with less talent can win championships when other teams have more individual talented players but not teamwork. Also, the twins show how learning teamwork is very important in their careers in saving lives and that you dont need all the best playersyou just need the right ones!

The original musical scores were written and performed by Dave Tak and his band and James Oneil Miner an INTERNATIONAL KNOWN AND ADMIRED pianist, composer and entertainer. James Oneil Miner performs over eighty concerts a year all over the world and is an award winning pianist with the prestigious Peoples Choice award as Instrumentalist of the Year in 2004. He has produced twelve CDs.

Also, the movie shows how the lessons learned are passed on to the next generation in their families. Stewarts oldest daughter, Krista, is a professional horse trainer, riding instructor, Horse Show Judge, and a High School Equestrian Team Coach. She has won and placed at state and international horse shows in many different events. Stewarts youngest daughter, Stacie, competes diligently in beauty pageants, where she was a Semi-finalist at the 2005 Miss Minnesota Teen USA Pageant, and she also won 'Best In Swimsuit' at the 2007 Miss Minnesota USA Pageant.

'How The Game Is Played' pays tribute to those special people who have helped them navigate through life's sometimes challenging paths. The movie is a must have for all ages. It is a wonderful educational movie for families, teachers, coaches, or anyone that is involved with molding young minds or those curious of family life.
