Jean-Charles, a young man about to turn 30, lives in a large house in the Montreal suburb of Outremont with his mother and his sister, both public library employees. They form a close-knit family, but Jean-Charles feels more and more smothered by the two women, who treat the majority of men with contempt, with the exception of Rasoir, the lover that the mother and daughter share between themselves.
