A kung-fu-fighting pup and his snickering cat sidekick battle crime.
Animated childrens show about a dog who is the janitor for a police station...until danger threatens, at which point he turns into the martial arts superhero Hong Kong Phooey!—Afterburner <[email protected]>
Penrod "Penry" Pooch is an anthropomorphic dog who serves as the janitor of a police station. But his alter ego is that of the masked martial artist "Hong Kong Phooey". He is feared by criminals for his success rate at capturing them. In reality, Penry is an inept martial artist who relies on information from a correspondence-course martial-arts instruction handbook. His success as a crime-fighter is in part based on his good luck and in part on the assistance provided his competent pet cat Spot. Either way, Penry always wins.—Dimos I
Penrod Pooch was a mild-mannered janitor at the local police precinct commanded by "ooo-ooo"ing Sgt. Flint. Flint and switchboard operator Rosemary were unaware of Penry's other identity, kung-fu-fighting Hong Kong Phooey, who wore a robe and a mask, drove a futuristic car called the Phooeymobile which could assume the shape of other vehicles at the sound of a gong, and traveled with his cat Spot, who could usually be counted on to rescue the bumbling Phooey from a tight spot.—Marty McKee <[email protected]>
