A group of seven people find themselves on a ship in the middle of an endless ocean, with no recollection of how they got there.

First Mate Jim Bedford replaces alcoholic Captain Svenson when ship owner Rufus Brent requests the captain to command a maiden voyage on a yacht recently purchased for his daughter, Mary. Bedford falls in love with Mary and marries her, in spite of Brent's objections, at the end of the cruise. Brent is won over, however, when Bedford rescues his disabled yacht during a storm at sea.—Pamela Short
