Vikram is a 32-year-old cop. While he is battling with his own traumatic past, the stakes get high when a girl called Preethi mysteriously disappears in Hyderabad and Vikram has to solve the case at any cost.
Vikram Jaisingh, a 32 years old police officer working for the homicide Intervention Team (HIT) of Rajasthan is battling with his own traumatic past. He gets advised by his well-wishers and his girlfriend, to take sabbatical and heal. But, when an 18 year old girl called Preethi goes mysteriously missing on the ring road of Jaipur, Vikram realizes that the case has a personal connection and he has no other option but to step in and find the girl, despite the investigation inducing panic attacks and anxiety at every stage.
Vikram Rao works for a Homicide Intervention team (HIT) and known to have quick solution in his cases in short time.But shares a depressive past his job as an investigating officer always reminds him of his past which directly impacts on his health.Neha his fiancee finds from the Doctor that Vikram needs break or else his health will get worst but he is adamant to his decision not to do so.Finally he agreed to go for three months break after breaking all ties from Neha,during that period Preeti an 18 year old girl goes missing in mysterious circumstances where Inspector Ibrahim Sheikh is suspended as he was last to meet her.After two months there is no trace about Preeti and Vikram gets a call from his colleague Rohit that Neha has also gone missing.Vikram leaves his vacation midway and convinces his Sr officer Ajit Singh Shekawat to transfer him the case but circumstances don't allow to do.Vikram then decides to start his own investigation along whit Rohit and comes to a conclusion that some how Neha and Preeti's kidnapping are connected to each other.—[email protected]
Vikram Jaisingh (Rajkummar Rao) is a cop in the Rajasthan HIT (Homicide Intervention Team), where he works in the Homicide Intervention Team HIT, and is sharp person, who solves crucial cases with his ability to capture even the smallest of details, thus earning the trust of his senior Ajit Singh Shekhawat (Dalip Tahil). He is in love with Neha (Sanya Malhotra), his colleague and a forensic official. Dr Ritika (Noyrika Bhatheja) is treating Vikram for his mental trauma, and advises him to go on leave, but Vikram steadfastly refuses.
Rohit (Akhil Iyer) is Vikram's close friend and his colleague, who accompanies him in most of his cases. Vikram is constantly in an argument with Akshay (Jatin Goswami), another officer, who crosses lines with Vikram. Vikram occasionally suffers from PTSD due to his past experience (he could not save a victim, who was burnt alive in front of his eyes) and refuses to take pills as he believes it slows down his abilities. Persuaded by Neha, Vikram decides to take a six month break to relieve his PTSD attacks.
Meanwhile, a girl named Preethi (Rose Khan) is driving on the highway, and her car stops to the side because it suffers a malfunction. Officer Ibrahim (Milind Gunaji) stops to help her, and she calls her father since she forgot her phone at her home. When her father comes to pick her up, he sees that she has gone missing, and Ibrahim says that she got into a blue car and he thought it was his car.When Preethi's parents approach Ibrahim in a demanding way, he remains firm and insults them. Being a good friend of Preethi's parents, Shekhawat decides to suspend Ibrahim because of how he acted and since he does not believe him. After two months, Vikram gets a call that Neha goes missing. He decides to go back to Shekhawat and ask for the case file for Neha going missing, but he says Akshay is dealing with the case, and he cannot give it to him.
Vikram decides to ask Shinde, who is Neha's colleague, about the cases Neha has dealt with the past two months. Vikram and Rohit connect Preethi's and Neha's missing case and deduce that the same person is involved in both cases. Neha was the forensics officer on Preethi's case. Vikram senses that he smelled the same Ittar smell in Neha's house, as he did in the cotton swab found inside Preethi's car. The 2 cases are somehow related. Vikram decides to investigate, and he asks Shekhawat for Preethi's case, and he takes over the case.Vikram suspects Ibrahim, as the blue car mentioned by Ibrahim is not seen by any CCTV camera on any of the toll booths around the section of the highway where Preethi went missing.
Meanwhile, Akshay has suspicions that Vikram was the one who kidnapped Neha. Vikram decides to go to Preethi's college, and he asks Ajay and Ekta about what happened the previous night, and they say the same response how they were at a pub. At the club, Vikram finds a bartender, who looks like a previous kidnapper. The bartender runs when Vikram approaches him. Vikram and Rohit apprehend him after a lengthy chase but turns out the bartender only had some drugs on him.
Vikram and Rohit ask both Preethi's parents, and they say that her biological parents died in a plane crash, and she was living with them and Preethi's neighbor Sheela (Shilpa Shukla) about her. Vikram deduces that Sheela and Preethi are both lesbians. Preethi lived at the Saraswati's orphanage before being adopted.On the day of a Puja organized by Preethi's parents, Sheela finds a note at her doorstep, indicating the location of Preethi's body.
Vikram and Rohit start deducing the case, and they come to a conclusion that Sheela kidnapped Preethi after they see Sheela's blue car and a note forged by Sheela (The handwriting analysis indicates that the note could have been written by Sheela) indicating the whereabouts of Preethi's corpse. Under interrogation, Sheela admits she wrote the note only to gain some media attention. She is subjected to a polygraph, which indicates that Sheela is not lying and that she knows nothing about Preethi or Neha's kidnappings. Ibrahim then sees the car and says that Sheela was not the one who kidnapped Preethi (the shade of the car he saw was lighter than the color of Sheela's car). Vikram and his team dig up the body at the location indicated in the note and find that it is unnoticeable, and it has a few DNA samples on it. The body is confirmed to be Preethi's. Sheela continues to deny that she buried the body there.Preethi's body had a trace of Ajay, Mohan and Saraswati's DNA. There is also an unidentified DNA on the body.Vikram finds out that Rohit's wife Sapna grew up with Preethi at Saraswati's orphanage.
Vikram suspects Ajay because he said that Preethi was his girlfriend. Vikram using the toll gate security cameras (after the kidnapper tries to kidnap another girl, who escapes and reports the matter to the police) he deduces that the man who kidnapped was Fahad (Raviraj). Fahad is a local mechanic who runs a local repair shop in the locality. Fahad's house had a blue sedan parked outside, which was the same that Ibrahim saw. the house had the same Ittar smell that Vikram found in Neha's house.
After Vikram, Akshay, and Ibrahim find Fahad, Ibrahim is shot dead by Fahad while Vikram and Akshay capture him. Fahad says he has no idea where Neha is, as he was only hired to capture her. Fahad takes them to the house where he received the money to kidnap Preethi. Vikram finds out that it was Rohit's house, and before Rohit can shoot him, he shoots him dead.
Rohit's wife Sapna comes down while Akshay goes upstairs and gets Neha. Sapna explains how Preeti and Sapna were orphans. Sapna fell in love with Preeti, but Saraswati - who ran the orphanage - didn't like that. Preethi got adopted and left. Sapna was unable to forget her. And some yrs later she married Rohit.
Sapna explains how she saw Preethi at a club and began talking to her. Turns out she never got over Preethi and when Preeti rejects her advances, Sapna kidnaps her as a means to talk to her. She then kills Preethi and has Rohit bury her and plant DNA evidence on her body to confuse the police. Neha was in charge of forensics and had managed to get Fahad's fingerprints from Preethi's car. So, Rohit kidnaps Neha.
When Vikram started getting close, Rohit took Preethi's body out and reburied it at the location mentioned in Sheela's note.Sapna gets arrested. When Neha and Vikram are talking, Vikram almost gets shot. It is then hinted that the story would continue in HIT: The Second Case.
