Summaries

The vast Australian Outback has claimed many lives and spawned many legends. In this series, the popular Bush Tucker Man, Les Hiddins, travels through some of Australia's most remote territory to explore tales of mystery, courage and survival. Following the trail of famous adventurers, explorers and bushmen, Les draws on his survival skills, his bush tucker knowledge and his fascination with stories of survival to uncover new evidence about intriguing legends and pioneering journeys.

Major Les Hiddins, _"Bush Tucker Man, The" (1987)_, takes to the outback once again to tell tales of survival in the Australian bush. The title is a bit of a misnomer because they didn't all survive, but Major Les shows how they could have done if they'd had his extensive knowledge. The tales include stories of early explorers, gold prospectors and people who crash landed or were shipwrecked in the wilderness of northern Australia.—Steve Crook <[email protected]>
