Synopsis

The story takes place in the life of multiple characters coming from different social upbringing in Egypt. The life of wealthy people inside the gated communities where everything is neat, clean and in order but paid for but hefty amount of money. In contrast, the life outside the fences in the slums where is lack of any services or luxury.

Ahlam early 20s is at the cross road in her life. She wants to finish her education but at the same time her mother needs help to pay her debts.

Ahlam skips school and works for Farouk, delivering drugs. She wants to help her mother paying the bills. Those trips bring her closer to Ali and a connection happens between them. Ahlam learns that her dad is in prison for theft. Meanwhile, Merritt's fame is gone and she finds all her friends are avoiding her.

Ahlam finds it is impossible to find a better life in this environment. Ahlam visits her dad in prison and asks his advice. Merritt offers to help Ahlam obtaining a visa to Europe and buy her a plane ticket. Merritt has the money and the connection, all she wants from Ahlam is to pull the plug from Nabil's life supporting machine in the hospital. In other words, to kill her father in law so Merritt gains custody to her daughter. Ali offers to help Ahlam.

Ali and Ahlam decide to be united and continue their love affair outside their poverty and their slums life in Egypt but they must commit a crime, which will help Merritt reunite with her daughter.

The characters are breaking down, never at rest or at peace. It is a love story from the ghettos of Cairo. It's a representation for the current social state of Egypt nowadays.
