The funeral ceremony Rambu Solo' is known and practiced by the people of Toraja land, South Sulawesi, Indonesia for generations. It's a very expensive ceremony which scarifies hundreds of animals like water buffaloes and pigs. They believe that these animals became the vehicle of the deceased to reach eternity. Renda Sarungallo, a modern lawyer, for the last 15 years of his life was traditional chief of his clan. Because of his noble blood and position in the family he was given the Rambu Solo' ceremony at his funeral. The festive lasted for seven days. "Hidup Untuk Mati" tells the story about Renda Sarungallo funeral ceremony in a very detail way never done by other film maker before.
