This reunion special of all four original Monkees aired on ABC in the format of an hour-long episode of their 1960s TV series, the premise being that the show never ceased production (despite being off the air) and by now they have run out of ideas for story lines. The beach-side pad from the original series was recreated for this special, which includes music from their then-current album Justus as well as a medley of their most popular songs from the 1960s.—Scott Miller
