Four-part political drama series about the rise and fall of a young politician. The story is set in 2010 and The Hague is the political center of the Netherlands. After a successful reign of twelve years, the popular 75-year-old Prime Minister decided to withdraw. To everyone's surprise, he appoints a young and relatively inexperienced politician as his successor. Meanwhile the succession in the monarchy runs less smoothly: the crown prince doesn't want to succeed his mother as head of state.
