As children in Mexico, Rafael and Pablo swear loyalty to one another, even though both love their friend Isabel. When, as adults, Isabel learns that Pablo, whom she loves, has joined the French Foreign Legion and been sent to a harsh disciplinary unit, she begs Rafael to find him and save him. Though Rafael deeply loves Isabel and wants her for himself, he joins the Legion in Africa in hopes of rescuing Pablo for the woman they both love.—Jim Beaver <[email protected]>
