Complications arise when Henry, in love with the new music teacher, joins the band. He accidentally gets a Stradivarius that belongs to another man.
Henry Aldridge (James Lydon) s enamored of his high school music teacher Louise Elliott (Marian Hall), much to the displeasure of his regular girlfriend Miimi Gray (Mimi Chandler.) To buy Miss Hall a highly needed new piano, Henry looks for outside engagements for his swing band and finds one in a shady nightclub with a backroom casino. Before that nightclub date the schoolboys and girls play in accompaniment of the great violist Josef Altman (Fritz Feld.) Altman plays on a Stradivarius worth $10,000 and a couple of crooks are in the audience with a well-devised plan to steal it. But Henry picks up Altman's violin and the crooks get Henry's worthless fiddle instead. Henry unknowingly uses the violin in the nigh club engagement and is forced to leaved it behind when the place is raided. A surge of Henry Aldrich complications arise.—Les Adams <[email protected]>
