This drama is a collaboration between Fuji TV and Skybound Entertainment (the company behind the western series "The Walking Dead"). Based on a science-fiction graphic novel by Shawn Kittelsen and Eric Zawadzki, it explores a post-pandemic world where gene therapy has saved humanity from disease only to give birth to Variants- people with powers so unique, the government denies their human rights. The Variants, who are persecuted by the public, live isolated in a village and are constantly monitored by an organization called VCU (Variant Crime Unit).
