Roguish, cynical newsreel cameraman Bill Allen usually has a dame in one hand and a hip flask in the other, yet catches breaking stories and disasters of all sorts on film. Newsreel photographer Bill Allen (William Gargan) is married to his job but in love with newspaper reporter Jane Malloy (Francis Dee). She yearns for romance and a more stable life and inclines to reliable Hal Caldwell (Ralph Bellamy) for a time.
