Uri, the first son of a "kibbutz", comes home from 2 years of studying. He finds his father has joined the British army, and his mother is with another man. He meets Mika - a new immigrant from Poland - and quickly falls in love with her. He is then torn between his commitment to his home family and girl, and between the "Palmakh".—Anonymous

The year is 1946, two years before Israel's independence. Uri returns home to his rural kibbutz after two years at college and finds his father has joined the British army and his mother is sleeping with another man. Then he meets Mika a young Holocaust refugee and falls in love. But young love is put on hold when Uri is drafted into the Palmach armed forces to fight for Israel on the verge of it's statehood. Will Uri's patriotism keep him from his love. Mika and his unborn child?
