After liberation from Japanese occupation in 1945, one man, living in Pyeongyang, attempts to assassinate a norhtern officer with strong Soviet sympathies. Failing this, he flees to the southern regions of Korea. Later he joins the army in participating in operation Pyeonyang when the Korean War breaks out.
