As John Bonnie's friends move away for college he stays behind and begins working at a factory to save money for tuition. He becomes depressed, drinking away his loneliness with an assorted group of barfly's, hookers, factory workers and killers. Bonnie stumbles upon the disappearance of a missing teenager which leads him into danger. He must figure a way out or risks suffering a lonesome death in the Spoon River Valley.—AT
