Based on the life of the Ras Tafari Makkonen, then Emperor Haile Selassie I of Ethiopia (1892-1975). Dedicated to pull his country out of isolation, pursued a policy of modernization and reform. Invaded by Italy in 1935, the Emperor unsuccessfully tried to get help in the League of Nations.
