In Las Vegas, a group of assorted criminals plans the robbery of an armored truck hauling casino money to the bank.
Chuck Wheeler gets out of the penitentiary and sets up an elaborate heist of Vegas casino money travelling by armored truck. He enlists the help of shady club owner Joe Darren and his ex-cellmate's wife, Vi. Vi's husband Mike is a trigger happy and jealous hothead and will not grant her a divorce. Mike escapes from prison right before the armored truck job goes into motion and promises trouble as he tries to locate his associates and his wandering wife.—Ed Sutton <[email protected]>
Just released from San Quentin where he was serving time for robbery, Chuck Wheeler already has his next robbery planned: to hijack an armored vehicle carrying an estimated $2 million, the money being transported from Las Vegas casinos to the bank in Los Angeles. The hijacking would take place at the Nevada-California border near the Stage Coach Inn, a combination motel and garage owned and operated by husband and wife Steve and Ann Thomas. The plan includes being long gone in Los Angeles before the armored car company would even know the vehicle was hijacked. He would need the unwitting help of some, like the Thomases, and the willing help of some others he has yet to meet but is almost certain will cooperate under the circumstances. One is vivacious blonde Vi Victor, the wife of his San Quentin cellmate, Mike Bennett, who Chuck plans to provide a cut of the money. Vi is the headliner at a Las Vegas nightclub owned by two, Joe Darren, the club only a front for his dealings as a violent and dangerous black marketer. Beyond the money, each goes into the scheme with a different motivation, which, in combination with the unexpected, may potentially be their downfall.—Huggo
