Newly-appointed Marshal Steve Landry has to resort to his secret identity of Durango in order to arrest a murderer who's hiding out of his jurisdiction, and he must defend his prisoner against the lawless element wanting to free him.

A United States Marshal, Steve Landry (Charles Starrett), is appointed to serve in the town of Rim Rock, which he quickly finds is ruled over by a lawlessness element who prefer the town be wide open. When the outlaws are out of his jurisdiction, he assumes his role of "The Durango Kid" to bring them to justice. But he leaves tracks that appear to be just what the gang needs to rid themselves of both the marshal and Durango.—Les Adams <[email protected]>

Steve Landry arrives as the new Marshal of a town that is having trouble with outlaws. When an outlaw escapes over the State line out of his jurisdiction, the Durango Kid brings him in. The Durango Kid then continues to break up the outlaw raids. But Belle, the saloon owner who is in cahoots with the outlaws, notices the the boot prints of the Durango Kid match those of the new Marshal and a trap is sent to get Durango.—Maurice VanAuken <[email protected]>
