Nikolay Rimsky-Korsakov was one of the greatest composers of the Russian nationalist school, as well as a great master of orchestration and music theory. Among Rimsky-Korsakov's most famous works are the opera Le coq d'Or (1906), and the symphonic works Capriccio Espagnol (1887), Scheherazade (1888), and The Russian Eastern Festival Overture (1888).—G.
