Synopsis

The Gorkha Protector opens with the scene as Bir (Shuny Bee) starts his daily training with meditation and martial arts at the Buddhist monastery, which is the birth place of Buddha Lumbini, Kapilvastu - Nepal. As the sun strikes the domes made of gold, a perfect reflection catches the eye, which gives a feeling no less than being in the presence of heaven. The architecture in the monastery is perfect beyond description. Anyone who has been there experiences a unique sense of peace, tranquility and pure beauty. Rightly named the Fountain of Peace, the monastery is filled with monks of different ages who are there to study and train their body and minds with the teachings of Buddha. In this perfect environment Bir is training to achieve the highest level of understanding and perfection in martial arts. His morning ritual is abruptly ended when a young monk brings a message from the Head Monk. Bir is supposed to fight against an American champion of martial arts Bob (Robert Madrigal) who has come there to research the art and culture of Nepal. This fight would prove Bir's skill and technique that he has mastered for the many years he has spent at the monastery. The arena is surrounded by hundreds of monks with some of the head monks seated at the pulpit. The loud sound of the gong signals the match has begun. Bir wins the match successfully and is praised by all the Head monks. Bob is impressed by the talent and skill that Bir used in the match and asks permission from the head monk to train under Bir. The Head Monk grants permission and Bir starts training with Bob the very next day as well as giving him insights about the philosophical meaning of martial arts. When Bir finishes his training at the monastery he returns back to his hometown to start a new life. He witnesses a lot of gang, drugs and prostitution that has plagued his hometown - Kathmandu for a very long time. One night as Bir walks home with his brother Bijay (Shiva Shrest), they come across a group of gang members chasing after a young girl named Radha (Rekha Thapa). They intervene and help Radha and take her to safety. They find out through Radha, that the gang members were a part of the notorious gang lead by Jango (Yuvaraj Lama) and his son Rocky (Shanka Ratan). Radha pours her heart out and tells them that she had been mislead by a man named Govind (Narash Bhatrai) who had told her that he loved her and wanted to settle down in the main town, miles away from Radha's village. She had fallen in love with him and without heeding her parents' advice to stay, she elopes with him. Once they are in the big city Radha realizes that she had been secretly sold by Govind to Jango's men to be a prostitute. It was through Radha, they found out that there were many other young women who were being held prisoner for the same reason. Bir convinces her to go to the police and file a report so that they could put Jango and his men behind bars once and for all. However the police officer Panday (Samrat Sapkota) was a part of this horrible gang circle. He knew what was going on but paid no attention as he was receiving bribes from Jango to keep his mouth shut. Panday threatens Bir and Radha to forget about everything and stay away from Jango or the consequences would be terrible. Moreover Panday says that without any solid proof of Jango's crimes they would not be able to prove anything. However this entire conversation was over heard by the Chief Officer, Baral (Ram Krishna Bajagain) who is outraged that Officer Panday did not want to take the report. He demands Panday to write the report immediately or else he would be fired from his post. Though Panday does write the report, he sets out to warn Jango about the incident. As a result of which Jango sends his men to find Bir and Radha. They are not able to track them but they find Bijay and beat him badly, sending a message to Bir. Bir swears to bring an end to Jango's empire with or without the help of the police force. Radha recalls seeing a yellow diary which Rocky always carried with him. This diary held all the detailed information about the trade as well as all the contact information of their important customers. The Head Chief says that this would be solid proof if they were able to get their hands into this diary. Officer Baral suggests that Radha be under the protection of the police so that Jango's men would not be able to get to her easily. Bir make's a courageous move by tracking down the warehouse where all the drugs and trading takes place. He informs the Head Chief the location of the warehouse. Unfortunately, Radha has been kidnapped by Jango's men, taken to the residence of Jango and is being ready to be shipped out of the country. In the mean time Bir has been spotted by Jango's men and Bir fights the men bravely using all the skills and knowledge he has gained during his training at the Buddhist monastery. He successfully brings down the men one by one and kills Rocky. The police arrive at that moment and take possession of the warehouse as well as the important diary. Bir gets the news that Radha has been captured by Jango's men and is outraged. He wants to get Jango himself. One of the men escapes from the warehouse and informs Jango about what happened and tells him that his son is dead. Jango is furious and wants Bir dead or alive. But they don't need to look any further; Bir arrives to end Jango's life. Before Bir is able to slit Jango's throat with the Kukri knife, Radha enters the scene and pleads Bir to stop as she doesn't want him to have another person's blood in his hands. Eventually the police arrive to take Jango away. Bir and Radha are finally united together, marking the beginning of their journey.
