With the recognition that humankind is over-relying on fossil fuels for electricity generation other options are coming on stream. That includes new nuclear energy options in the form of safer reactor designs and the alternative fuel, thorium, which shows promise for making nuclear energy cheaper with less environmental impact and less nuclear waste.
