Synopsis

"Good Grief" intricately weaves the lives of three close friends-Marc, Sophie, and Thomas-against the backdrop of a fateful Christmas party at Marc and Oliver's home. The festivities take a tragic turn when Oliver, Marc's partner, meets with a fatal accident after leaving the gathering for work. The film commences with the camaraderie of the friends, setting the stage for a series of emotional revelations.

In the aftermath of Oliver's death, Marc grapples with the profound grief and shock. His journey of coping takes an unexpected turn when he discovers a red envelope from Oliver, exposing a hidden affair and an apartment in Paris meant for his lover, Luca. The revelation adds layers to Marc's grief, pushing him to seek solace in a trip to Paris with his friends.

As the trio explores the city, tensions arise when Luca appears at Marc's home, unraveling the secrets Marc has been concealing. Sophie and Thomas, once oblivious to the complexities of Marc's life, confront the depth of his pain. The unfolding drama leads to a poignant discussion among the friends, where they collectively decide to confront and overcome their respective grief.

The film's conclusion sees Marc showcasing his paintings at an exhibition, symbolically portraying his journey towards healing. The canvases include portraits of his friends and even his ex-lover, encapsulating the complexity of relationships and the transformed power of acceptance.
