Going Away is a 40-minute short film that has a universal story in its core - of family separation and leaving loved ones because of emigration. Set in an Anglo-Indian milieu, a family unit of brother, sister and her daughter and their uncle live in an old bungalow in St. Thomas Mount, Chennai, India. A happy family, day to day life is simple and no one longs for greener pastures. Or do they? One day the arrival of a letter changes all their lives.
