Summaries

A small Texas town of fewer than five hundred citizens sends their high school girls' basketball team to the state championship playoffs.

In 1988 the Godley Girls' High School basketball team fought their way to the finals of the Texas State Championships in Austin, Texas. It was the biggest event ever in the history of this small farming community. This is the documentary of their storied rise to the top, including interviews with the town preacher, the sheriff, mayor, middle school coach, coach, the players themselves, and, of course, the town philosopher.—Steve Warren
