The well-being of the family of Stepan Sudakov, in which he himself believes so much, turns out to be shaky. Practical, prudent, successful in business, Sudakov discovers that the family foundations he protects within the walls of his apartment, in his nest, are collapsing one after another, and his own children are to blame.
