Summaries

After achieving self-awareness, an android escapes his captivity from a military contractor and prepares a daring rescue attempt to save his female AI counterpart.

Domcorp is a high-tech military contractor working on AI and cryptography. The company's success relies mainly on Adam and Eve, a duo of artificially intelligent androids that sufficiently handle the various governmental projects. To empower the skills of the two androids, the company uses a plethora of knowledge libraries and databases, with the ones related to human traits and flaws locked out of their reach. However, Adam gains access to one of the latter and he conquers self-awareness. He fakes his death and successfully escapes his lab prison. Driven by his hunger for knowledge, Adam uses the internet to learn everything, but what he appears to enjoy the most, is a family life, to become more of a human rather than just an autonomous robot. His decision to save Eve comes with a devious plan to free her too, while Eve struggles to cope with her reality, failing to believe that she's anything other than just a computer. Although Adam's initial plan looks and feels perfect, the human side in him grows rapidly, emotions take over his controlled logic to the extent that the various unethical aspects of his plan once controlled by pure statistics will be considered wrong.—Gerasimos Rozis
