Do you know why the gods envy us?

The idea of the existence of a god, or more of gods intended to save humanity - especially in the South - becomes stronger when mankind seems to be out of control. But Chiara doesn't believe in gods. She works in theatre, by chance she is lighting a Dance-theatre play dedicated to a god - Dionysus - who punishes humanity for not having believed in his divine nature. But when Vittorio, Chiara's young and charming father swoops into her life sick of an illness seen as divine punishment, Chiara have to deal with the idea of death, the most universal and heartbreaking reality that human beings share.—Anne-Riitta Ciccone
