We conceptualized and produced the making of the National Award winning (regional for Telugu version) feature film The Ghazi Attack - called 'Ghazi Diaries'. "This making is of an international level. Why don't more films in the south make such classy 'making of' films?"- Rana Daggubatti "Very well made and impressive!"- Karan Johar.
The film 'The Ghazi Attack' is an epic underwater tale of the immense courage and undying patriotism of the men aboard the Indian Submarine INS Rajput who destroyed the Pakistani submarine PNS Ghazi when it ventured into Indian waters with the ambition of conquering the eastern coast of India in 1971.
'Ghazi Diaries' included a high octane, stylized 'making of the film' that footage of not just shooting, but covering various aspects of making the film from production design to sound design and VFX, as well as in-depth interviews with the cast and main crew of the film. We delved into the intricate detailing that went into creating the submarine set and bringing the period alive.
Apart from this, we also came up with a unique way of promoting the film as part of 'Ghazi Diaries'- we made short videos that were about real life veteran submariners. The idea was to interview submariners who were serving at that time and ask them their experience / involvement in this underwater war. We delved into the extremely challenging life of submariners at sea, their exemplary patriotism and personal lives. We also obtained historically significant naval archival footage for creating a gripping account of real life war heroes.
We shot this extensively in naval offices and naval officers' homes in Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Mumbai. This novel way of promoting the film struck a chord with the audience.
We also made a tribute to Om Puri - as his was one of his last films. His co actors and makers of the film recounted their experiences and moments with him which made for an emotional viewing experience.
