Orphan prodigy singer runs away from her oppressive aunt and tricks a rural couple into adopting her.

Budding concert artist Doris Stanley (Gloria Jean) leaves home to escape her Aunt Addie (Nana Bryant), a slave-driving, money-grubber, who hires a private detective to find her.
