This is a tale about two children who are put in a foster home, and then on Halloween they breakout and are rescued by their eccentric grandfather who is in a Halloween costume of an eyeball. George, under the care of his cantankerous grandfather, a retired sailor, comes under suspicion at school when his teachers suspect that his home life is causing him trouble at school. Now, torn from the only family he's ever known and thrust into an uncaring and parasitic foster home, George's only hope to set his life right is to find the lost treasure of Captain Kidd, rumoured to be buried on George's Island just off shore, but what he doesn't realise is that the treasure is under watch by a supernatural guardian.
