French language version of the Austrian film Sonnenstrahl (1933): a young woman full of despair comforts a lonely unemployed man who was going to drown himself. Together they find ways to make money and they become a couple.
One evening, as he is about to be evicted from his apartment, Jean sees no other solution than suicide. Desperate, he prepares to throw himself into the Danube but is overtaken by Marie who has had the same idea as him. He throws himself into the water and saves the young woman from drowning. Reunited by their solitude, the two fall in love and decide together to get out of it. A succession of adventures follow in which the young couple multiplies small jobs to face their difficulties.—Happy_Evil_Dude
