As COVID-19 ravages small businesses, a barbershop owner faces the biggest challenge of his life: continue running the business in debt, or close down his father's only legacy.
Gadong is the story of immigrant dreams. Our story follows Saleem, a barber in Brunei who has been hit with difficulties and debts during the economic downturn of COVID-19. With the whole world suffering a global shutdown, the last thing anyone needs is a barber. All he wants to do is return home to his family, but he is burdened by the responsibility of continuing his late father's legacy. The longer he extends his duty as a son, the farther he is from his own. Through the ups and downs, he has his best friends Zakaria and Raja by his side and they're joined by Azam, a much needed breath of fresh air who transforms the business. For the first time in a long time, it looks like Saleem's wishes might finally come true.
