In a small town, a group of high school friends try to uncover the monster behind a series of mysterious disappearances.
Damien is just a typical teenager: high school, friends, crushes, rivals, the usual. Nothing ever happens in the small, quiet town of Allegan, Michigan, either. But as Damien begins his freshman year of high school, he will find that he has a lot more to worry about than turning in a late assignment. There is a monster lurking in the shadows, and whenever it appears, people vanish. Even though everyone around Damien does not believe in the monster, he sets out to prove that it exists. Damiens quirky best friends Thomas and Carl soon get pulled into the mix, as well as Juliet, Damiens high school crush. Events lead them through the trials of homework and bullying, eventually culminating to a decisive point in the investigation that may reveal that there is someone or something else standing in the darkness. As Damien and his friends shine light into the shadows, Damien will discover that in a world where monsters may be around every corner, only the fittest shall survive.
