Love and death mark a family reunion on a Jewish matriarch's 60th birthday one summer in Stockholm.

In the Jewish family Cohen mother Rosha is having her 60th birthday and her three children come to celebrate with her. Angelique, aka Freud, still lives at home and uses her knowledge of psychology to make poisonous comments about the others.
