An anthology television series with three regular segments, most of them continuing from "Fred and Barney Meet the Thing". "The New Fred and Barney Show" primarily focused on the misadventures of the cavemen duo of Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble. They met Stone Age versions of werewolves, vampires, Frankenstein's monster, and trickster genies. They also tried part-time jobs after their boss Mr. Slate reduced their regular salaries. "The Thing" segment featured the tales of the teenage superhero Thing/Benjy Grimm and his supporting cast. "The New Shmoo" segment had the shape-shifting creature Shmoo (from the comic strip Li'l Abner) helping a trio of amateur sleuths to investigate mysteries.
