The haze of an uneasy New Orleans limbo is disrupted when Alex receives a message from Daphne, his former lover in Greece. As his longing to return is awakened, the opportunity to make a small fortune arrives in the form of a mysterious diving job in the Bering Straights. Alex promises to come home after this last mission but Daphne is no longer willing to wait. She goes to Alaska, arriving in Homer as Alex leaves port. While Alex is at sea, Daphne tries to locate him with the help of a local bush pilot, flying along a parallel course. Filmed primarily aboard a small boat in the Bering Sea and in the actual scene locations, the film unveils a world of mythic proportions, a cradle of sea and sky that both connects and separates the two protagonists, magnifies and fulfills their yearning.—TwoStroke Films
