10 episodes documentary series examining the challenges of coming out of the closet.

For a LGBTQ individual to discover, accept and share his/her true sexual identity still is tabu in our society, but it's also a crucial moment for those who go through it. "Fora do Armário" shows the challenges of the aftermath of that moment of truth. With interviews and real life scenes in the style of "Cinéma Vérité", the doc series presents the actions and reactions of family members and friends of the main characters after the revelation, when their relationships and daily lives are put to test. Some of the characters of the 10 episodes are a transgender girl going through her reassignment surgery, a gay man that makes a living as a drag queen and a father of two who comes out of the closet in his 40s.

Created by Tatiana Issa and Guto Barra, the docuseries FORA DO ARMÁRIO (OUT OF THE CLOSET) presents an intimate portrait of several characters after the revelation of their true sexuality to family members and friends. To discover, accept and expose someone's real sexual identity can still be a taboo in our society - at the same time, it's also a crucial moment in the lives of all that go through it, even indirectly. OUT OF THE CLOSET shows the challenges of dealing with the aftermath of that revelation. The actions and reactions of the lead characters, their family members and friends are presented in interviews and scenes from their real lives, in the style known as "cinéma verité". OUT OF THE CLOSET is a co-production between HBO and Producing Partners.
