In the night from Wednesday to Thursday, the violent criminal Karl Schanz breaks out of a Hamburg prison. Disguised as a policeman, he is able to get to the apartment of Christine, the wife of his best friend and former fellow prisoner. Karl is planning to take the public prosecutor hostage.—Ulf Kjell Gür
