Circus Karla has been on tour in Germany and is now returning to Denmark.

After an unsuccessful tour in Germany, Circus Karla returns across the border. Back home in Denmark, the circus director Karla discovers that the seasoned clown and handyman Lavs has hidden a vagabond in his cart. Lavs explains that he found him starving and without memory somewhere in Germany. The young man is allowed to stay in the circus, and Lavs soon discovers that he has a very special talent.—Nordiskfilm
